Privacy policy
Last updated
This policy covers the RouteLeads website and service. It explains what information we collect, why we collect it and what you can ask us to do with it. “We” and “us” mean RouteLeads. “You” means a visitor, someone who starts a trial, or a customer.
If you’re a homeowner, skip to Homeowners and property data to see what we hold about your property or ask us to keep your address off our lists.
What we collect when you start a trial
The signup form asks for:
- Your name and email address.
- Your phone number, if you choose to give it. It’s optional.
- Your business type, such as pool service or landscaping.
- Your service area (a ZIP code or city).
- Your crew size and where you get leads today.
- The plan and billing period you picked.
When you submit the form, we also record:
- How you found us. We record the first page you visited, the site that sent you and any campaign tags in the link you clicked (the
utm_parameters). Your browser keeps this information in session storage while you look around. It sends the information only when you submit the form. Closing the tab clears session storage. - Your country. Our hosting provider reports the country your connection comes from.
- Your browser’s user agent. This is a short line of text that names your browser and operating system.
We don’t store your IP address in our signup records.
Why we collect it
- To set up your trial for your service and territory.
- To contact you about your account. If you gave a phone number, we may call to help set up your territory.
- To see which services, areas and plans people ask for, so we know where to put our effort.
- To see which pages and links bring people to us.
- To keep bots and spam out of the form.
We don’t use your information to build ad profiles.
Analytics
We use Umami to count visits and see how people use the site. Umami doesn’t use cookies or store IP addresses. It records the pages you view, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and your country. It also records clicks on buttons such as “Start free trial”, including the plan and service picked. We look only at combined totals. Umami’s records aren’t linked to your name or email.
Bot protection
The signup form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is filling it in. Turnstile reads signals from your browser and connection, such as your IP address and user agent. Cloudflare says it uses these signals only to detect bots and doesn’t use cookies to do it. Details are in Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy addendum.
After you sign up, Cloudflare’s email service sends your confirmation email. We’ll email you when your first list is ready. Replies to the confirmation email come to us.
We email you only about your signup and your account. We don’t put you on a newsletter. If we ever send product news, every message will have an unsubscribe link.
Companies that handle your data
Cloudflare hosts the site, stores signup records, checks the form for bots and sends signup emails. Umami handles site analytics. They use only the data described above to run those services.
We share your information with anyone else only when the law requires it, to protect someone’s rights or safety, or as part of a sale or merger of our business. If the business is sold or merged, this policy still applies to the information you gave us.
How long we keep it
We keep signup details while your trial or account is open. If you don’t become a customer, we delete your details within 24 months of your last contact with us. If you ask us to delete your data, we delete it within 45 days, apart from anything the law requires us to keep. Umami keeps traffic totals, which don’t identify you.
We don’t sell your personal information
Under California law, we don’t sell or share the personal information you give us. We don’t use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, which means ads that follow you around other sites.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and where it came from.
- Send you a copy of it.
- Correct it.
- Delete it.
Send your request to the privacy email listed in the footer. We’ll confirm we got it within 10 business days and answer within 45 days. We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address you signed up with. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
California residents
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives California residents the rights above. California residents may also opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and limit the use of sensitive personal information. Because we don’t sell or share personal information, no sale or sharing opt-out is needed. We don’t collect sensitive personal information from visitors or customers.
You can have an authorized agent make a request for you. We may ask the agent to show that you gave them permission.
In the last 12 months we collected these categories of personal information from visitors and customers:
- Identifiers: name, email address, phone number.
- Commercial information: the plan and billing period you picked.
- Professional information: business type, service area, crew size, current lead source.
- Internet activity: landing page, referring site, campaign tags, user agent.
- Approximate location: country.
We get this information from you and your browser for the reasons in Why we collect it.
Homeowners and property data
RouteLeads gives service businesses lists of homes that may need their service. Each lead includes a property address and property details such as whether the home has a pool or solar panels, lot size and roofline length. If public records list the owner’s name, the lead includes that too. We build these lists from public property records and aerial imagery. We don’t include homeowners’ phone numbers or email addresses.
To keep your address off the lists we send customers, email us at the privacy address in the footer. Put “Suppress my address” in the subject line and include the full street address. We may ask you to show that you own or live at the property. Once that’s confirmed, we:
- Remove the address from every list we deliver after that.
- Keep the address on a suppression list so it doesn’t get added back later.
We can’t pull back copies a business has already downloaded. Our terms require customers to stop contacting a homeowner who asks them to. California residents can also use the rights in Your rights for this data.
Children
RouteLeads is a tool for businesses and isn’t meant for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update the date at the top when this policy changes. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we’ll email customers before it takes effect.
